With Regime Fitness
Sports massage should play an important part in the life of any sportsman or woman whether you have an injury that needs rehab or just tight muscles.
Massage has a number of benefits that are physical, physiological and psychological.
Sports massage can help maintain the body in generally better condition, prevent injuries and loss of mobility, cure and restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, boost performance and extend the overall life of your sporting career.
Sports Massage is a huge component of my life as a Fitness Coach, for my clients and for my own personal recovery and relaxation process. I find the human body incredibly fascinating therefore to get the opportunity to study it further and now practice it in massage is a dream and incredibly rewarding. Not only can I assist my clients in getting fitter through training, I can now enhance their recovery and improve general movement in daily life through massage.
We go through our day to day lives sitting for most of it. Whether that be in the car, in the office, at the dinner table or on the sofa. Our bodies are subjected to the same position day after day, week after week. We then go and exercise, putting our muscles and joints in more contracting positions, stresses and strains…and I’m sure we can all vouch for leaving the gym or a fitness class
without properly stretching after…
This, along with a generally sedentary daily routine, over time leads to shortened and tight muscles that can lead to muscle imbalances and incorrect compensations. To make matters worse general stresses and strains of daily life will contribute further to aches/pains and tight muscles.
